Sully
104lbs. – 29″ tall

Sully is a stunning, Teddy Bear type Bernese Mountain dog who was bred and raised at SwissRidge Kennels.
His father was Odin (an imported dog from Europe) and his mother was Electra. Electra is a beautiful Bernese Mountain dog out of my mother’s lines, and is the fourth generation bred at her kennel. We have been hand-selecting only the best Bernese to breed over the last 20+ years.
Electra’s parents are Jacqueena and Duc. Duc is a stunning dog, imported from an award-winning kennel in France. I had the opportunity to visit the kennel and hand-pick him from the litter. Duc’s lines are health-tested over five generations back, so this kennel is only breeding the best. They also participate in cutting-edge genetic research testing for cancer markers in the breed. This research is so important, and since many of these tests are not available in Canada, we often go overseas when expanding our lines.
Electra’s mother, Jacqueena, is a large, exquisite dog. She was bred at my mother’s kennel, and her parents are Nellar and Dominique. Dominique and Duc are from the same kennel in France. Nellar was also bred at my mother’s kennel – her parents are Veruschka, who was imported from an award-winning kennel in Slovakia, and Daiko, who was imported from Belgium over 20 years ago. For more information on these dogs, you can visit my mother’s website at moorsbernese.com.
All of the dogs that make up these lines have been imported from the best kennels around the world, including kennels in France, Belgium, and Slovakia. I am so confident in these lines that I kept four puppies from one of Jacqueena’s litters – Adelyn, Cordelia, Electra, and Madelyn – and a female from another one of her litters, named Cristal. It’s important to look at the horizontal pedigree as well as the vertical pedigree, which I’m able to do because I see the parental lineage in addition to testing siblings.
Sully is now the 5th generation that I have personally known. We know the lines on his mothers side very well and they have been producing amazing puppies for people around the world for the last 23 years.
Sully has it all looks, personality and health! It was a no brainer to add this amazing boy into our breeding program as soon as he passed all his health testing!
Here is a little more about Sully’s personality from the trainer who raised him!

Sully is one of the cutest and sweetest boys I have ever met, and no doubt the most handsome! He is goofy, loving, silly and very playful. He has a balanced temperament and is extremely social. He loves to meet humans and dogs. He thrives on playful interactions with everyone and anyone that is wanting and willing to socialize with him. If someone isn’t willing, he will certainly do his best to convince them that he is super fun and worth the time! Haha
Sully loves to walk and as soon as he sees the leash in my hand he makes a beeline for the front door, ready to venture out into the world for his next adventure. He has become the neighborhood favorite and is known for his sweet and good nature. He can’t resist wanting to say hi to everyone he sees on our walks. Even strangers are potential new best friends to this goofball.
Despite his excitement for walking and playing, Sully is a very laid-back pup. His favorite pose is to be as flat as possible on the floor, every inch of his body touching the cool tile. He loves winter and enjoys frolicking in fresh powder. The cold doesn’t bother him as he has a coat as thick as a Woolly Mammoth.
Despite being a big boy, Sully knows when to be gentle. He is very good at adapting his energy to the dogs/people around him.  Some of his best friends have been puppies that are 1/10th of his size. His energy is wonderful, so it isn’t surprising that pups and dogs love to hang out with him and crawl all over him like he is Mount Everest.
Sully is extremely affectionate and when he relaxes, he enjoys being close to anyone he can (sometimes he likes to get a little to close, lol). He often lays by our feet if we are sitting down or hanging out closely where ever he finds people to hang with! When he wants some affection, he comes over, sits in front of us and nudges us with his nose for attention. As soon as he senses that he’ll be receiving some love, he turns around to back in, ready to receive.
Sully has been a wonderful presence and energy in my home. I love him so much and I am thrilled that he will be sharing his awesomeness with the SwissRidge community!

Harley

90lbs. – 22″ tall

Meet Harley, a playful and strong boned Bernese Mountain dog, proudly bred and raised at SwissRidge Kennels. She is out of Isla and Odin (please go to their individual pages to find out more about these amazing and well-bred lines).
There were 6 female pups in this litter and we kept all 6 for our breeding program. I’m happy to announce that all 6 siblings passed their clearance which shows very strong and healthy genetics in both their vertical and horizontal pedigree’s!
You can check out all of Harley’s siblings to find out more about the lines (Delilah, Storm, Betty, Navy, Olive).
Here is a little more about Harley’s personality:
Harley lived with a foster family for the first year of her life before coming back to the kennel as a breeding dog. When she retires, she will go back to that family to live out the rest of her retirement life. At the kennel Harley is a bold, affectionate, and active girl. She can have a bit of a stubborn streak and it’s very easy to know when she wants to do something and when she doesn’t. She is very affectionate and loves every person she meets. She is very curious and bold when exploring her surroundings. She loves all the other dogs, loves to play in the yard and loves exploring the forest for off leash pack walks!
This is what the family had to says about Harley during the time they had her in their home!
“Harley is a very happy, friendly dog. Her tail never stops wagging. She absolutely LOVES people. My husband calls her “the cuddler”. She always wants to have some part of her body touching one of us. She comes leaping up and gives a good hip check when she is getting ready to settle. When she greats us she wants to jump up for a hug.
Harley has her quirks. She loves her squeaky toys but instead of chewing them to get them to squeak she pokes them with her nose like a woodpecker which we find hilarious.
Harley is not fussy and has been a joy to raise. She settles right in on the days she goes to the office with my husband and can usually be found sleeping under his desk until he moves at which time she thinks it’s play time. She doesn’t love the heat but will endure it if we are out in the yard and she can be near us. You can tell that she would rather be inside laying on top of the air conditioning vent in the summer. But this just shows how much of a loyal dog she is and how much she adores people. All in all, Harley is a wonderful dog and we are looking forward to her rejoining our family when she is retired from the SwissRidge program”

Hattie
36lbs. – 15″ tall

Hattie is an amazing, sweet, lively and charismatic SwissRidge Doodle (a combination of a Bernese mountain dog, Golden retriever, Poodle and Australian Labradoodle). She was bred and raised at SwissRidge Kennels with her sister Hopper. Her parents are Autumn and Wookie. Autumn’s lines have been in our kennel since 1998. We have kept them around generation after generation as they have proven themselves to be healthy lines that produce amazing family dogs!!! Ginger, who in my opinion, was the sweetest golden retriever in the world (my soulmate), was the one who started it all and was the building blocks behind the SwissRidge Doodles. She was born in 1998 and lived to the ripe old age of 17 years old (passing in 2015). She produced Lazeeza (Goldendoodle) who was bred to Henry (Bernedoodle). They then produced Autumn (Golden Mountain Doodle) who was bred to Wookie (Australian Labradoodle) to produce Hattie and Hopper! These lines have been in our kennel for 26 years now and have blessed the lives of 100’s of families with their sweet and loving nature!
So a little more about Hattie!
Hattie is a beautiful, affectionate girl and a huge people-pleaser. She always tries to be perfectly behaved and loves showing affection. Hattie loves being close to any human, always seeking touch and affection. She likes to shuffle her head into our armpit so that our arm wraps around her, and then snuggle super close and give lots and lots of kisses. She is brilliant and active. She is a speedy learner, very attentive during training, and has a drive to work. She would have been a fantastic agility dog if she hadn’t already had a job. Hattie loves to run and explore new places. She has a perfect recall, and I never had to worry about her going too far or not coming back to me. She loves playing fetch, and we enjoyed walking to the park daily to play or people-watch. Hattie can be busy during the day and she loves following me into every new adventure, during downtime she enjoys chewing on a bone and relaxing. She enjoys doing dog puzzles to keep her mind busy when not chewing a bone. Hattie loves meeting new people and loves them instantly. Affection is her kryptonite. Hattie always received many compliments in public, not only for her beauty but for how wonderfully affectionate she was with anyone she met, from children to older adults. She wants to show everyone love. She is a social butterfly and lights up the room with her positive energy.
She has already proven herself to be a wonderful mother with one litter of puppies on the ground that are blessing families around the globe!

Hopper
39lbs. – 17.5″ tall

Hopper is a fun, loving, sweet and social SwissRidge Doodle (a combination of a Bernese mountain dog, Golden retriever, Poodle and Australian Labradoodle). She was bred and raised at SwissRidge Kennels with her sister Hattie. Her parents are Autumn and Wookie. Hopper’s lines have been in our kennel since 1998. We have kept them around generation after generation as they have proven themselves to be healthy lines that produce amazing family dogs!!! Ginger (Hopper’s great grandma), who in my opinion, was the sweetest golden retriever in the world (my soulmate), was the one who started it all and was the building blocks behind the SwissRidge Doodles.

Here is a little more about Hopper’s personality.

Hopper is everything you could imagine when you think about your perfect family dog! She has amazing/fun energy. She loves to play, explore and is always by our sides. She is also gentle and loves to snuggle during down time. She is an extremely affectionate and loving dog! When I try to name some of my most affectionate dogs I’ve been around, she is at the top of the list! She is extremely sweet and loves social interactions with all dogs and people. She is a social butterfly, always ready to engage in play and frolic with other dogs, regardless of their size or age. With people she loves to curl up beside anyone for belly rubs and ear scratches, if you let her, she will be curled up in your lap in a matter of seconds! Hopper thrives on outdoor activities and loves to explore new places. Whether it’s romping through our forest of 5km’s of trails, swimming in the pool or romping around with the other dogs, Hopper is always up for the challenge, her curiosity shining through as she investigates her surroundings with an endearing sense of wonder. With an ever-wagging tail and a perpetual smile, Hopper is a delight to have around. She is warm and friendly to everyone she meets. She adores children and loves spending time with them, eagerly joining in their games or helping them along their way when they are learning to walk or are unstable. She was raised with a 1- and 3-year-old in her training home and was very motherly to both. In the household, Hopper is such a joy to have around. She is great with kids and keeps them entertained. She is an easy dog and learns commands and new skills quickly. She brings lots of laughter and love into our family home. Hopper has passed all her genetic testing and our temperament testing and has now entered our breeding program! I’m excited to be able to share Hopper’s puppies with some lucky families in the future!

Betty

80lbs. – 22.5″ tall

Meet Betty, an active and social Bernese Mountain dog, proudly bred and raised at SwissRidge Kennels.
You can check out all of Betty’s siblings to find out more about the lines (
Delilah, Storm, Navy, Harley, Olive).
Here is a little more about Betty’s personality:
Betty has boundless energy and a zest for life. She is an extremely happy dog who is confident, active, and loving. She does require physical activity, and mental stimulation to fulfil her needs.
If you asked the girls at the kennel, they would describe her as “extremely sweet and fun loving with a wild child soul. She has a big personality and isn’t scared to show it, like a bull in a China shop”
Betty is best friends with everyone she meets and if you don’t want to pay attention to her, she will change that in a matter of seconds, so you really have no option.
As a puppy she was the most confident in the litter and was always the first one in the litter that came up to us seeking attention and love.
She loves all dogs and welcomes any new addition to the pack with open paws. She is like that kid at schools that needs to be everyone’s friend, will always welcome the new kid and try to be friends with them first.
All in all, Betty has a very kind and loving demeanor, never wanting anyone to feel left out! She is active needs her exercise to feel fulfilled.

Storm
86lbs. – 20″ tall

Meet Storm, she is a lovable and happy Bernese Mountain dog, proudly bred and raised at SwissRidge Kennels.
You can check out all of Storm’s siblings to find out more about the lines (Delilah, Olive, Betty, Harley, Navy).
Storm spent the first year of her life living with a foster family. This is what they had to say about her personality.
“Storm is one of the happiest most loving dogs I have ever had in my life. She is never not wagging her tail and is always in contact with someone either leaning into them, lying on their feet, or simply just lying on top of them. Storm seems to believe that she is a lap puppy and will happily perch on your lap if you let her. Give her a kiss on the nose she will kiss you back. Stand close and she will get up on to hind legs and reach up for a hug.

Storm is a big, strong girl. You can feel the muscle in her legs and body. When she runs our 1/2 acre yard, she runs all over, back and forth. She also loves her walks through the trails at the York Region Forest, and always seems to find herself a stick! Once she has run off her steam or had a nice long trail walk, she looks for a cuddle and will flop down beside you to get a leg rub or will roll on to her back for belly scratch. Car rides are her ultimate favourite often accompanying me on school drop off/pick up or late night runs to pick up the teens from their work shifts.

Storm gets along well with other animals and understands a house hierarchy regardless of size. In her foster home, Storm had a great friendship with Abby, a NSR Golden Mountain Doodle. She seemed to understand that Milo, the 13 year old Shorkie (Shihtzu-Yorkie) is old and not interest in playing with anyone!

Storm loves people and behaves with the same love for everyone she meets. She is also extremely patient and tolerant. Squeeze her paws, tug on her tail, pull on her lips. She laps up the attention. This demeanor makes her fantastic with kids. In her foster home, there were several teenagers and one 10 year old boy. Our 10 year old would give her full body hugs, lay on her, take toys right out of her mouth and she let it all happen lovingly.

Storm is very smart and will do what she has to to get a mini peanut butter dog cookie. She is very food driven and enjoys her meals and treats even though she devours them in a flash. It took her no time at all to learn basic commands. Storm does have a stubborn side but willingly complies when treats are involved.
Storm’s appearance is striking and her coloring is beautiful. I am sure she will have some gorgeous pups at SwissRidge! So grateful for the opportunity to have Storm as part of our family! Thanks Sherry!
Jennifer, Darrin, Blake, Kyle, Evan, Liam, Jack, Megan, Pearl and Grandma Ruby.”

Korra

94lbs. – 24″ tall

Korra is a fun spirited, loyal and go with the flow kind of girl. Korra is a kind of dog that would be willing to go on any adventure as long as she was with her people. No matter what you ask her to do she does it with ease, this could be joining a new play group or living arrangement, she handles change effortlessly. She is a dog who is always looking to please, as long as her people are happy with her she is happy and content. Korra is extremely loyal to her people. When cleaning up the play yards she can often be found following behind so closely that she steps on the back on your shoe. On pack walks she is the same way. At the start she loves to chase after the other dogs and run ahead but always makes sure to check in and walk right behind you with a big smile. Korra LOVES to be groomed, especially brushed. Any opportunity she is given she will run to the grooming room full speed and jump up onto the grooming table for love, snuggles and a brush. When she is brushed she sits and closes her eyes, she is so content sometimes we think she might fall asleep. When you stop brushing, she paws you asking for more. She is always willing to repay you with lots of kisses after and will happily return back home for a nap. Korra is one of the most laid back and relaxed dogs at the kennel. She loves to sleep and relax inside but when she is outside she gets more energy!

All in all she is a very easy going and sweet dog who adores all people including children!

Charm 85lbs. – 25″ tall

Charm was originally imported from Italy by one of my friends who breeds Bernese in the US. I then purchased her and she came to live with me at the age of 2 years.

Charm is the sweetest, most loyal, and gentle dog!
She will always be close to her human and loves to interact with people she knows in a very gentle and calm manner.
She is more on the submissive, docile, and reserved side.

She loves the comfort of her home. She loves forest walks but always looks forward to getting back to the kennels where she knows her friends are waiting. She is not the type of dog that loves the hustle and bustle of the city or busy environments. I think this is partly due to being raised in the country but also part of her personality.

She is not hyper, always on the go or always seeking attention and adventure. She is very happy to lay by my feet, relaxing very calmly as I scratch her ears or give her belly rubs.

Charm is not the most confident dog in the kennel. She needs to get to know someone before she interacts and becomes their best friend but give her the day and she will bond to new people and will never forget a face.

Charm is very smart and intuitive. She is very easy to handle and work with.

She never jumps up on us, never barks and is extremely well behaved. It’s like she just knows what we expect and how to be the perfect dog!

We put some of our younger pups in with Charm and she helps raise them as she is the perfect example of how we want our dogs to behave at the kennel and she teaches them well!

The best words to describe Charm are sweet, gentle, affectionate, calm, and submissive.

Henley
57 lbs. – 24″ tall

Henley was bred at SwissRidge kennels. Her parents are Leida and Nelson.
Henley has a very relaxed, calm, and gentle personality. She is one of those dogs that just knows what we expect of her and does it. She is not a stubborn or rambunctious dog. She has that type of personality that always wants to please us no matter what it takes! She is a very well-mannered pup and is always on her best behaviour. Even though she is still young she acts like an old soul. We have used her many times to help teach our younger pups in the kennel how to be well behaved. There is someone very special about her that I like imprinted on my other puppies and I like that her energy is able to rub off on my other dogs. She is a fantastic puppy raiser!

Henley has a cuddly personality. She loves to be with people, and she loves affection.

Henley is a quiet dog. I rarely ever hear or bark. She loves to play with the other dogs and loves to go on walks, but she is not a hyper dog and would rather chill and cuddle. Even on our walks she runs up ahead and then lays down and relaxes as we catch up to her.

Henley would make a wonderful therapy dog and I see all the traits in her personality that would excel at therapy dog work.

The best words to describe Henley are smart, intuitive, kind, loving, gentle with a great energy about her.

Ohana 22lbs. – 17″ tall

Ohana was bred and raised at SwissRidge kennels. Her parents are Zepplin and Bones. Both are amazing, proven dogs, who have produced fantastic puppies over the years that our clients have been very happy with. Because of this I decided to keep a puppy from this pairing for my own program.  I’ve been thrilled with Ohana so far! Both Zepplin and Bones are fully health tested and cleared. You can go to their individual pages to see their health testing. Ohana is also fully health tested and cleared. Clearances can be seen below.

Ohana is a Hawaiian word meaning family. This little girl suits her name perfectly as she is a huge part of this SwissRidge family and fits into it seamlessly. She has the bubbliest, fun, outgoing, playful, loving and social personality! She is a dog who wants to be everyone’s best friend. If you even give her a sideways glance, she is right in your lap looking for pets. She doesn’t discriminate who she wants love from. She is not a one-person dog. She would go home with anyone and looks for affection from everyone in site.
She is an extremely social pup! She also has a very playful and active personality. She is always up for any adventure. She loves to go on walks and never wants to be left behind. She gets along with all the dogs. I can put her with any play group, and she loves them all! She is small but has a sassy side to her. She can put the big dogs in their place and will stand up for herself if need be. She isn’t a dog who will get bullied, but she is also very respectful to all the other dogs. She fits in very well in group settings.

I can’t wait to share her personality traits with the SwissRidge community through her puppies!
