Nelson
105 lbs. – 24″ tall

Nelson is a golden retriever who was born and raised in Germany. He was imported into Canada at the age of 5. Nelson has an extremely impressive pedigree and comes from a highly sought after European breeder of English golden retrievers. Out of the 10 dogs in Nelsons 3 generations pedigree 8 of those dogs are Multi Champions. He also comes from a 5 generation pedigree full of good and excellent hip scores. Nelson is father to many purebred golden retrievers in Europe, 5 of which are multi champions (that I’m aware of). Nelson has achieved his Junior Hunter advanced title, while in Germany and has also won many best in class titles including becoming a national winner in September 2018! Nelson has the beauty, health tested lines and personality, any dog breeder would be lucky to own him! I scored big with this guys and I couldn’t have been luckier!

Nelson is a looker. The first thing you will probably notice is his ginormous head. Everyone comments on how beautiful and big his head is. It can’t go unnoticed. Then comes his extremely sweet, happy, go lucky personality. He wants to be everyones best friend and cuddle! He is a huge teddy! He has your typical golden retriever disposition. He is smart, playful, obedient, affectionate and LOVES to retrieve and wants to please. He doesn’t seem stubborn and is just happy to be with people and be loved on. When Nelson came to the kennel from Germany, he didn’t understand a thing we were saying. Our trainer worked with him to teach him his commands in English, which he learned extremely quickly. Nelson is extremely food motivated and very willing to please which made retraining him very easy. Nelson, a typical retriever usually eats his food as soon as he is given it and then often acts as though he is still hungry. He is the kind of guy that could trick someone into giving him a second breakfast, which he happily eats right away. If you drop a treat from above Nelsons head or throw it from far away, he will catch it almost every single time. Nelson is up for any adventure you’re willing to take him on. He loves to go hiking in the back trails. He will run way ahead of the group following his nose but always makes sure to come back and check in on what everyone else is up to. Nelson’s favourite activity is playing fetch, I’m pretty sure you could throw a ball all day for him and he would retrieve it. When you go to visit Nelson in the yard or in his kennel he gets so excited he quickly looks for something to bring to you in his mouth, whether it is a ball, bone or even his blanket. He is a true retriever and his hunting titles and confirmation titles show his talent and beauty!

Nelson is a big love bug and would love nothing more than to sit on your lap and get all the loving you are willing to give him. He is the type of dog any person could own. Even someone with 0 dog experience. He is just a laid back , easy going, mellow and sweet boy who loves love and affection. The best words to describe him are happy, go lucky, sweet and willing to please.

Jimmy Choo
61lbs. – 26″tall

Jimmy Choo is a very tall and regal standard poodle. He would be known to those in the poodle community as a Royal poodle because he is greater than 25″ tall at the wither. He has legs for days! He is one of the tallest poodles at SwissRidge. When bred to a Bernese he produces very large Bernedoodles. His puppies usually have his height and the Bernese thickness, this makes for a very large dogs and most of the time larger than both parents.

Jimmy was bred in the US and was imported into Canada at 8 weeks of age.

He has grown into a magnificent and stunning dog and I couldn’t be happier with this boy!

Jimmy has a typical poodle personality. Jimmy is a very playful, loving poodle with a heart of gold. He loves to cuddle, loves to bounce, loves to play with toys and his friends! He is full of life, happy and has energy when we go on our trail walks but he is not a hyper dog. During the day he lay’s around the kennel and relaxes. One thing I love about him that is different then a lot of poodles, is poodles are typically more vocal, Jimmy rarely barks. He is a quiet dog by nature. This part of his personality and his gentle nature reminds me of a Bernese, everything else about him is all poodle.

Jimmy loves his friends. We don’t allow our girl and boy dogs to mix so there are no accidental breeding’s. All his friends are intact males and he gets along with every single one from the toy poodle Sting, to his partner in Crime Henry. He loves all the boy equally. If I had to pick his beasties in the kennel they would be Henry, followed by Jackson and Gimli. They have their little playgroup and their personalities mesh very well!

Jimmy absolutely loves to go on off-leash pack walks with the boys. His favourite thing to do on our walks is to stretch his long legs by running as fast has he can through the fields as he leaps over the grass!

This boy literally turns heads as he passes people with his model like legs, bubbly personality and forward moving prance. He has a happy, sweet and go lucky personality.

I would say the best words to describe him are happy, sweet and regal. A real head turner!

Odin 107 lbs. – 27″ tall

Odin is one handsome boy! We imported this stunning pup from Europe with his sister Ophelia at 8 weeks of age. There are a few reasons I couldn’t resist puppies from these lines.
#1 Odin’s lines are very long lived. His mother is 11 years old and is still as healthy as can be. Bernese lines are not very long lived and for a Bernese to make it to 11 and still act like a puppy is impressive.
#2 Odin has a pedigree full of Good and Excellent hips. Even his vertical pedigree has very good hip scores. Well researched lines pay off as Odin’s hips are Excellent, Ophelia’s hips are Good and I know some of his brothers who went to America and they have good hips.
#3 his mother was awarded top breeding dog in 2018 and 2019 in the breeder’s breed club.
#4 I have been following puppies out of these lines for over 2 years before I purchased Ophelia and Odin and loved the look, health and what people had to say about them
#5 I fell in love with his fathers look (see his picture in the gallery). I have a soft spot for the Teddy Bear heads that some Bernese have. His father has this look.

Odin lives in a family home and comes to the kennel when we need him for breeding.
This is what they have to say about him:

“One word that best describes Odin is GOOFY!! He makes us laugh all the time from his facial expressions to his personality. He is very affectionate.
He always has to be touching you. When he’s getting his ears scratched or head rubbed, he must lean on you, and if you‘re not ready, all 107 lbs of him is flopping on to the ground. He’s so trusting that you will be able to support him. Same as when you ask him to sit, he scoots around and sits on your feet. He just loves his people so much he needs to be touching us.
He thinks he’s a lap dog trying to sneak up on our laps on the couch. He will sit there with his front paws on us and his back feet on the floor showering us with kisses or trying to nibble on our ears.
He loves to play with other dogs and is great with puppies. He is also great with kids. He is so gentle and patient. He loves to play fetch, go for walks, and run around with other dogs.
On a quiet evening, he’s happy to just lay on his bed chewing his bone.
The best words to describe him are GOOFY, SUPER AFFECTIONATE and Gentle Giant! We adore this goof ball and are excited that he will be able to share his good looks and amazing temperament with other SwissRidge clients”

Jackson
29 lbs. – 18″ tall

Jackson is an Australian Labradoodle (ALD). He is from a very well respected Australian Labradoodle breeder in the US. We hand picked Jackson out of a litter of 6 and flew him back to Canada with us! Jackson stole a few hearts on that fligh. Jackson is related to Levi in that Jackson grandfather is Levi’s father. I have always been thrilled with every litter Levi produces and I’m happy to have his prodigy!

Jackson is an active, happy, loyal, fun-loving dog! He loves everyone and is a huge goof ball. He has energy and drive which is good for training. He is very engaged when it comes to training, is focused and you can teach him anything because he is not lazy to work. He loves his off leash runs through the fields of our property. He has a really great energy because he is an active dog but when he comes inside he can relax. This is what I love to see in all my dogs. He gets along with all the dogs in the kennel, even all the other intact male dogs.

His favorite past time is to find a puddle and sit in the middle of it, which isn’t the best quality when we are trying to keep him clean. He loves to blow air in our ear. We call it story time because it is like he is whispering stories in our ear.

Jackson is a stunning pup with the cutest face, beautiful coat and well proportioned frame. His color is stunning! The puppies that he has produced I have been thrilled with and I’m hoping he will follow in Levi’s footsteps in producing health, beautiful puppies with great personalities!

PLEASE NOTE: when Jackson is bred to a Bernese his pups are typically very solid, stocky and most have a Bernese build. They are typically bigger then Levi’s puppies. They usually range in weight from 45-75lbs. Most being in the 55-65lbs weight range.

Mcgregor
37lbs. – 20″ tall

McGregor is handsome and he knows it!  He is currently being fostered by one of my employee’s, but is still being used in the breeding program when needed. This is what his foster mom has to say about him “He is full of life, energetic and has quite the rare and unique personality.  He can often be found playing with his Golden Retriever friend Zara, where his idea of initiating play is by putting every toy he owns into her mouth so she will play tug of war with him.  He also has become quite fond of the cat where they play chase most days (the cat always wins).

He is very cuddly, smart and offers so much love and affection that you simply cannot get enough of his cuddles (because he wouldn’t have it any other way).  He loves to learn new tricks and will often do them with no command (to get his treats faster). He also has a paw that has a mind of its own,  he offers it up anytime you pass by or uses it to get your attention for some petting.

McGregor loves his walks, enjoys meeting other dogs and he absolutely loves to play.  One of his favourite things to do when we enter the door is to find something nearby that he can bring to us (like a toy or a slipper) he is just so kind and thoughtful.  He makes us laugh so much……. he has such a fun character.

This pup is one of kind, he captured our hearts the moment we met him and our lives are so much richer with him in it.”

Milo
12 lbs. – 10″ tall

I call Milo my baby Sting. He looks and acts so much like him just a younger version. Milo is a fun, energetic, happy boy who has a vest for life.

I purchased Milo with this brother Otis and they have been inseparable since the day they where born. They do everything together and have a very strong bond. They keep themselves entertained for hours chasing a ball or each other, rolling and wrestling with brotherly love. They are a riot to watch play.

Milo loves everyone he meets. His tail is constantly wagging and he has a very inviting presence to his personality. Anyone that meets him can’t help but be drawn to his charm and good looks. He is very friendly and gets along with all the other dogs, even though he is a intact male.

I’m excited to announce he has passed all his health clearances and has started his career as a professional stud at SwissRidge! He has sired some beautiful litters so far. I’m thrilled with his puppies. They are making families around the world very happy!

Otis
10 lbs. – 9″ tall

Otis is a gentle, loving, sweet soul. I received him and his brother Milo at 12 weeks of age. They have been together since birth and are inseparable. Anywhere one goes the other is close behind. It is adorable to watch their bond and see how much they love each other.

Otis is the smaller of the two. He is also the more reserved and gentle one. He looks up to his bigger brother, learns from him, mimics him and follows his every move. Otis is the one who loves to cuddle and be held. He will cuddle in your arms and gaze into your eye for however long you will hold him. We call him the snuggle bug. He is just the right size to take almost anywhere. He has a very gentle, calm, soft and submissive personality. His personality is very unique as most mini poodles are much more outgoing. I love everything about this boy from his  structure to his gentle personality. I can’t wait to see what type of puppies he produces!

Levi 17 lbs. – 14.5″ tall

Levi is the first Australian labradoodle (ALD) I have ever owned. An ALD is a cross between a poodle, cocker spaniel, and Labrador retriever, and they come in a range of sizes and colors. Australian labradoodles can be registered through the Australian Labradoodle Association of America.

I have been interested in adding an ALD to my lines for some time, but I first had to find the right dog. I searched high and low for a dog with Levi’s characteristics. I finally found him from one of the top ALD breeders in North America. His pedigree is solid and has numerous generations of health-tested parents.

Levi is a handsome boy with a soft, fleecy non-shedding coat that is prized in ALDs. His temperament is similar to a goldendoodle, which is probably why I like him so much! He’s exceptionally well behaved, intelligent, and eager to please. He has a beautiful spirit and brings an amazing light to every situation. Curious and spunky, he loves nothing more than being carried around and cuddled. He loves playing with his puppies and is always delighted to meet anyone who comes to pick up one of his pups.

It’s not much of a surprise, but Levi adores all the females in the kennel. What is surprising to me is that he gets along so well with all the other intact males! Levi, Sting, Crumpet, and Loki run together in a happy little pack. This just proves that it pays off to put the time into finding the right dogs with the right temperaments.

Levi is now siring Australian bernedoodles, which are a cross between an Australian labradoodle and a Bernese mountain dog. Levi is one of my star studs! I know exactly what he produces time after time. There are no surprises with his pups. He has produced many truly stunning puppies that make amazing family dogs for every type of household. My clients adore his pups and always give rave reviews when it comes to the puppies he produces.

Bones 28 lbs. – 16.5″ tall

Bones is an adorable little guy! He is from an outstanding Australian labradoodle breeder who breeds to the best standards possible. His parents have impeccable genetics, and these lines have been genetically health-tested over many generations.

Bones was my first choice out of this litter and I couldn’t be happier with him. His coat color has stayed a deep, rich chocolate, which is rare, since many doodles with the chocolate coat color fade into mocha or even grey. I look forward to having pups with non-fading coats within his lines.

He has a beautiful structure and an even more beautiful face. His muzzle is short and stocky, and he has a broad head shape. He is full of life and charisma. He loves to play chase, fetch, and wrestle with all his buddies. He especially loves his toys. I’ll throw his favorite toy in the air and he will run after it full speed while sliding across the floor to catch it and then tackle it to the ground. Everything is a game to him. He loves other dogs, but his favorite playmates are Christmas and Cedar. He adores people and wants to jump into everyone’s lap to receive all the love and attention he can. Bones never runs out of kisses to give us. He is such a happy, loving, affectionate, and playful little guy and I look forward to sharing his remarkable personality through his puppies.

Grommet 41.5 lbs. – 23″ tall

Grommet is a handsome small standard poodle.
I have always had a difficult time finding poodles from breeders that I would want to add into my breeding program. I seek puppies whose parents have been health-tested for generations, who are well tempered, and who possess the look and structure that are important to better my breeding program. Meeting all of these criteria has been a difficult task. Whenever I thought I found the perfect addition, there was usually a reason I couldn’t add them – either the puppy didn’t pass my strict health testing, their temperament wasn’t just right, or they didn’t grow up to be what I expected. Some may say I’m a bit too selective when adding dogs to my program. I raise a lot of dogs, but only a few actually make the cut.

I finally decided to breed a litter of poodles for myself, keep and raise the puppies, and choose the top dogs out of that litter to breed. I bred two of my most prized poodles – who have everything I look for and love about the poodle breed. It was a great success. I hand-picked some of those pups to raise, one of whom is Grommet.

Grommet is the biggest poodle of all his littermates, which suits his big personality well. He is bursting with kindness, a good sense of humour, and good looks. As a tri phantom, he is envied by many. Grommet gets along with everyone, but enjoys the company of his brother Hershey the most. These boys love to wrestle, always trying to outdo each other in strength with lengthy games of tug of war. When spending time with Grommet one on one, you get to see his softer side where he anticipates your every move. He carries out commands exceptionally well, and he listens very well under distraction. He never backs down from a challenge and is always keen to seek out the next adventure, whether it’s hiking, swimming, or being the first to get the ball. His fun and playful personality is one I want to see in every one of my doodles. I can’t wait to share his amazing personality with dog lovers everywhere!
